Methinks 88 only had the ba10? Or was that 86 when they mixed and matched?

I just checked on tranny and I saw no markings on it ,it looks like the ax-15 with all the ribs on the casing ,there is 1 tag with a date on it ,on the side of it , is there a difference in them that's different looking at them?

The BA/10 isn't worth sinking a dime into.

Either find a CHEAP used BA/10 to slap in or look at the ax15 conversion.

For the record my 1989 with a build date of 05/89 came with the ax15. I'm not sure what month the cutoff was but this might help someone in the future who stumbles upon this thread.

could be other things beside tranny . Bad mount,tc drop can also cause this issue. Mine was hitting floor pan when in reverse causing issues.

tc drop is a Transfer Case drop, where you lower the back end of the transfer case to correct drive shaft angle in a lifted vehicle. It also lowers the transmission somewhat, which would cause the shifter to possibly hit the back of the hole in the floor when in reverse.

Easiest way buy a 95 and up wrecked/blown motor donor and swap tranny and transfer case. Then part out remains to recoop monies.
