I'm in the middle of doing a ax-15 swap in my 88 Cherokee. I got the ax-15 out of a 91 Cherokee so I ordered the clutch set and flywheel for a 91. But I was comparing the old flywheel to the new one and the reluctor wheel is different between the two. Will the 91 flywheel work or do I have to use one for an 88?
Since none of the experts have chimed in I will give it a shot. I think you need the 88 flywheel, that is what I used when doing the swap on my '88. Think you need it for the renix cps to work correctly, think 91 may not be renix (forget exactly when the switch happened). Hope this helps.

That's kinda what I was thinking but I wasn't sure. I new to the Cherokee game. I'm used to the simplicity of my carbureted Wrangler. I appreciate the help.

Also pilot bearings not gonna work unless pilot shaft are same size on new and old trans. Call Novak Adapters they carry the correct one to do the swap.
