Default AW4 won't shift out of OD when driving

I have an issue with the trans on my jeep. It shifts fine through all the gears and even goes into over drive. The issue is when I am driving and press the peddle down to go up a hill it won't shift out of OD into a passing gear to go up the hill. It will shift if I almost floor it. I am getting a p705 code from the code reader. I cleaned the NSS a few times thinking that was the problem. I have also adjusted the TV cable a few times to no help. The fluid in the trans is pretty bad so I am going to drain and refill it over the weekend to see if that helps. Could this be a grounding issue with the TCM or a shift solenoid problem? Hope someone has a clue on what this is and can send me in the right direction.

thanks

Dan

First step would definitely be the drain and fill. Your gonna have to do it several times before its clean though. This might not solve your issue, but i would do that first before i do anything. These transmissions run so much better after they get some clean fluid in them

ok I did the drain and fill it did not work. So i started looking at the electrical. I tested the solenoids and they were all within the 11-15 ohm range. I also checked the TPS and I am getting .78 volts at idle and at WOT I am only getting 3.9-4.05 volts. I had the codes read last night and the p0705 is gone and only the p420 code is there (I already have a cat and might change it this weekend). Could the TPS be out of spec on the top end by 1 volt and not throw a code? I am going to change it today and see what happens. I have looked and got mixed write ups on what the voltage specs are from the TPS on one site mine looks within spec and others it looks out of spec.

Thanks
