Front tires not moving, back tires spinning.
Hey guys I put my 92 xj in 4wd for the first time and the back tires are spinning but the front tires are not moving.
I pulled the lever all the way down to 4WD Full at stop. Am I missing anything?
Also I tried putting it back in 2WD with the same result.
Starting to get worried here, any ideas?

You probably have the vacuum disconnect Dana 30 in the front. It's pretty shoddy, to be honest. Our '89 has it, but we've bypassed it by opening the cover for the disconnect collar (I think that's it's name....) and locked it in the engaged position.
Quite easy to do, actually and you'll have 4WD when you need it. Acts like any other front axle on the road in 2WD. We don't have any issue with vibrations or anything, and we've been off roading with it like that and it works great!
Here's a link to what we did: Disconnect Mod

92 shouldn't have the vac disconnect, unless someone put one in there.
are you sure the t-case is shifting into low range?

Okay, I didn't notice it was a '92....My bad. Probably a stupid question, and I'm sorry for asking, but....do you have a front driveshaft installed?

Step 1. Look under the Jeep, is there a driveshaft extending from the differential on the front axle (pumpkin on the drivers side of the front axle) to the front of the transfer case (silver box right behind the transmission under the middle of the Jeep.)?

Took a look there's definitely something there. I was able to get it moving forward after it lurched a bunch of times and the gears grinding it is making a high pitched sound now like an rc car.

sounds like you have a problem either inside the front diff (gears) or inside the transfer case (chain)...
