Default aw4 and the tv cable

Greeting all,
I'm hoping someone can recommend a transmission specialist in Houston, TX.
I read that if you were to choose to have a (aw4 - bullet proof) transmission rebuilt, make sure they really know the AW4.

This comes after having it rebuilt already. A full complete rebuild. 3mo after, they had to replace the valve body. 9mo after that, they claimed all clutches were burnt out - constituting a full complete rebuild again. Now, 2.5mo to date, they're saying the tv cable broke, and the transmission needs another complete rebuild. All prior revisits were free and honored. This time claiming it'll cost me 2k plus cost of cable.

All symptoms were shifting issues, (solenoid type) but every return to shop addressed just about everything but the solenoids. I haven't wheeled this thing in a year.
96 xj, 256k, 8.25 rear, 4.5 la, 32's, borla headers, injector swap, front / rear bumper upgrades, etc...

Does the tv cable require a full rebuild?
Is my tranny an AW4 anymore?
Is this shop sounding honest and knowledgeable? (i was quoted 2600.00 for factory remanu from another shop. INSTALLED).
I'm pretty mechanically inclined. But do I wanna mess with this one. I've easily replaced the solenoids before, but not sure if I'd be able recognize additional problems once the tv, assuming, goes well.

Feeling like a donkey, Thanks for any feed back.
