97 XJ 4.0 Aw4, 130k miles.
It is throwing CEL codes P0700 and P0743. I bought the jeep this way and it is my first xj, I am not familiar with how the torque converter lock up is supposed to feel. I checked the brake light switch and that is working fine, though the rpms do no spike when I press the brake pedal. I followed user CCKen's troubleshooting guide to test the solenoids from the TCM plug from under dashboard. I got good readings on all the solenoids except the TCC solenoid. The TCC had an open circuit. My questions here is should I be chasing a gremlin in the wiring harness or can a solenoid show an open circuit when they go bad? Thanks for any help, It is below 20 degrees outside here with no garage so I'm trying to find the path of least resistance here, I was hoping for another troubleshooting method without dropping the pan. Any help is much appreciated
