The connectors where fine. Turns out in two weeks, my fluid has gone from fine to smelling like a batch of bad barbeque. I'm slightly confused by that. The only time I got the trans super hot was a long time ago when I did 15+ miles on the sand dunes in high range without giving it a break. It was warm enough I could not touch the trans tunnel carpet for long.

Is it shifting in and out of OD a lot? If so that could explain the burnt fluid. When you lock out OD it will lock the converter in third. So you get about 2800-3000 rpm which isn't that high.

No the problem is that its staying in OD and won't unlock the torque converter without shifting.

I'm pretty sure that's how it's designed. Once mine goes above 45 it will lock the converter in OD no matter how hard I push the peddle before a downshift. I don't think your has a problem, unless mine does too. Which is possible.

Here's the fluid that came out. Black chunks in the bottom too. 240 miles trip today then will do it again tomorrow.
