You should be fine depending on if you have other accesories you may want to run an inline fuse though

I ALWAYS use inline fuses. And yes, use the relays, it is a fire waiting to happen. My fogs are hooked up to the stock fog switch, but they are still with an inline. My driving lights aren't on a relay, they just have their own switch, but again, it's used with an inline. In total, I run 2 fogs, 2 driving lights, 4 hideaway strobes, 2 rotating 55W, 1 steady takedown, 1 LED Traffic Advisor, and 2 dash strobes. Plus 3 radios and a radar detector. They all work with one battery. I have two now so I can leave them for longer, but it will work with 1.

Its not necessarily the battery, but more of the draw on the system. Your alternator is what you need to worry about, if it cant keep up with the amount being used then your battery will slowly die. Of course you would need to run the lights allot. Just like a powerful stereo system an upgraded alt. is the only way to get that much more power. You can also put a dual battery setup in.

If you have the extra space I would recommend the second battery. That way when your wheeling, you can shut the car off and still have your lights for double the normal time. I did that setup when gas was 7.5M per gallon to save gas, but now that it's cheap I can really enjoy it.

what is the most cost effective and safe way to do a dual battery setup? I saw some other info on here about it and the hardware/wiring was about 400 dollars, batteries not included.

I didn't do a new battery tray, I have the second battery in my backseat. That may cut your costs.. but the manager was expensive.

if you get an alternator out of a 97-98 grand cherokee with the 5.2 it will bolt up to your 4.0 just gotta play with the wiring a bit
