Aux fan issues!
Recently my aux fan hasn't been working, it will go on for about 30 seconds when I turn my air on but it will stay on when my heat is on, but it won't turn on if the engine is running at a high temperature, so I'm trying to figure out if it's my fan, wiring or my motor. I went to my local junkyard to get anther fan but all they had were prior 96 xj and the connectors aren't the same. So I need some help here! Idk what to do if I should find another fan or what

P1682 possible causes:
AMBIENT/BATT TEMPERATURE SENSOR
B (+) CIRCUIT HIGH RESISTANCE
GENERATOR GROUND HIGH RESISTANCE
GENERATOR FIELD DRIVER CIRCUIT OPEN
GENERATOR FIELD DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
GENERATOR FIELD SOURCE CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
GENERATOR FIELD SOURCE (+) CIRCUIT OPEN
PCM
What is your alternator doing, in terms of voltage output?

Hook wire up to the fan + and - I took the - up to the front and grounded it to the body, then took the positive wire through the cab near the brake pedal. Run the wire into a two pole toggle switch, run another wire out the same place you took it in. After that I took that to an inline fuse. How you hook the positive wire to power is your choice. It seems like a lot of work, but is worth it. My jeep runs at 190 after the switch was put in. As all xj owners know, overheating is a big problem for a Cherokee. I will post pictures later.
