Aux fan install

My 96 sport 4L 5 speed doesn't have an aux fan installed. I have one from my old 90 that I kept. It's wired for it and just needs to be bolted on and plugged in I'm guessing. Is there a way to test it before its installed but plugged in?

Take some alligator clips and jumper the fan to the battery and see if it kicks on. Make sure the fan faces upward and is out of the way of your fingers.

If the connectors match, you can just plug it in and turn on the A/C or unplug the temp connector at the thermostat housing to confirm that the fan will come on. If it doesn't start, probe the connector to confirm that current is present under the above conditions.
