I spoke too soon. I only hooked up the front two speakers last night( got too dark) and they worked perfect. Then this morning I hooked up two rear speakers an it said protect on deck and no speaker works. What the f.

I discounted both rear speakers and reset it and it still says protect. In the manual it says that the protect means there is a short circuit and to fi it tn reset the deck and I'll be good.

I took off rear speakers and reset but no sound from front still, and it still says protect.

So is it the front speakers that don't short till I plug in back 2 speakers? I don't get how that even happens?

Don't see a factory amp. I dot hook the speakers up to the wiring harness for the stock. I just go directly from the wiring harness that came with the new deck to the speakers

Took me for ever and a day but I rewired everything haha works now. Thanks for the ideas. I still couldn't find anything that was exposed but it might have just been the old speaker wire.

I've gotten the speakers all working and now I have another question. If I screw from the interior roof to attach a medal bar inside the jeep cargo and my screw goes through to the roof will it leak? I was thinking about soldering the roof closed, where it penetrates.
