Default apn header flange is a little bit thicker than the intake manifold flange

is that supposed to be like that? wouldn't it be better if they were the same thickness for a better seal?

yes because the cup washer need to sit flat on both intake and exhaust surface.

that's what I was thinking.. but surely I'm not the only one with an APN header.. no-one else has seen this?

My OE header is just shy of 1/2", the APN header is just over 1/2"

Maybe this is the cause of my frustrating rough idle and cyl 1 misfire???

I don't know the P number but that is what the scanner at Autozone translated it as.

I just installed the APN header yesterday and had a similar problem of a cylinder not firing. Turned out to be I didn't have the cap on the injector plugged in right and the snap ring was not seated. As for the thickness difference, there's enough slop in the washer to have a slight offset IMHO.

i had no problems with mine.

i've never heard of any of these cases with the APN Header until now...

The only issues that i've ever heard about, concerning the flange, is that the 2 middle bolts on the bottom are a PITA to get to during installation. A 14mm Ratcheting Wrench solved that problem though.

Seems that the misfire might be caused by something else...

Quick Reply: apn header flange is a little bit thicker than the intake manifold flange
