Have a 1995 Cherokee sport 4 wheel drive
Be driving and engine will cut off and then back on
Have replaced computer,distrubutor,crank sensor, TPS, coil, cables,
Have down at dodge right now
Does not show any sensors bad on machine

 

sounds like a bad earth on the ignition side of things???

 

Failing Fuel Pump canl have the on/off/on sypmtoms.

 

Fuel pump checks out okay & the ignition pigtail was replaced

 

Bad ground

 

Check all grounds and look for possible short circuits.

 

crap in the tank? my truck sat for 6-7 years before i got it she would run the trails fine then cut out on the highway on the way home thought it was from getting hot till i pumped out the tank first 10 gal. pumped fast then i had to shake the tank to get the last 5 out

 

Mine would cut out going around corners, it was the crank sensor. Sounds like a ground to me, does it do it when you hit a bump or turn... something to make a ground wire lose its connection for a second...
