Its hard to say anything about a tire unless you've used it. With that said, it doesn't look like too bad a tire in my opinion. It looks like it has the holes for studs, which is nice if you live in an area where you might have some harsh winters, and could use studs.

 

Very true, but just because the "off" brand tire is made by a larger company it does not mean they are made with the same rubber compounds or even held to the same quality standards. I used to work for Michelin (which owns BFG, Uniroyal, and a few others) and I would watch all the different brands roll down the conveyor and while every Michelin and BFG were quality checked by hand, the other tires would keep on going.

For what its worth you may be able to find a set of used tires for a decent price. I picked up a set of 33x9.50s for $180 and they have plenty of tread left.

 

I'm a big fan of the Nexan Roadian AT tires that I run on my 6.0L Powerstroke diesel Ford Excursion. I put over 100K miles per year on the truck while driving around the country, as well as back and forth to Alaska a time or two each year. All of this driving while pulling my loaded 28' enclosed car hauler trailer. I'm currently on my second set of the Nexan Roadian tires, and on the first set, I got over 50K miles out of them.

I'm soon going to buy a new set of of the Nexan Roadian MT tires to install on my son's 1986 2.1L turbo diesel Cherokee. In my experience, for the price, these tires are very hard to beat! I buy them at Walmart.com and then have them shipped for free to my local Walmart, where there, I have them mounted, balanced and installed. I get a free rotation balance every 5K miles and/or repair where ever there is a Walmart. During my travels, I can hardly swing a dead cat without hitting a Walmart!

 

I'll second the Nexen Rodian A/T II's. I plan on getting the M/T's when these wear out. I used to run a daily newspaper route and I've got a little over 45,000 miles on the A/T's at @ half tread. I was told that Nexen is made by Cooper.

 

If you're looking at "off brand" tires I'd definitely check out gt radial adventuro mts got about 40k before they were done.

Btw 60k on the stt is bs lulz
