Red face anybody heard of nexen roadian m/t's?

So heres the age old senerio... tight budget, old set of wranglers that came with my big red heep are getting on in age and i'm looking for a new set of tires. i was hoping for something that had a fairly aggressive tread, but isn't going to break the bank (yeah right!) i came across the nexen roadian m/t's in 235/75/15 for about $80 a tire... what do you guys think???

I've always believe, you get what you pay for in life. And tires are one area, I wouldn't cheap out on! With that being said;
I have Cooper Discoverers STT's, on my jeep. (I love 'em, and would buy them again) There a great mud/snow tire, without that much road noise. I highly recommend them. (I would probably do a product review, search on the internet. Comparing mileage rating, ware, aggressiveness, daily driving,etc). Vs. your needs. Must be quit a sale on them, from what I saw. There listed at $125.00 ea................................................ .................................................. .....JMO!

i've done a couple of internet review searches and i had a hard time finding any literature on them, they seem to be very low key. although i read on a couple of toyota forums some of the guys there had them and the performed very well, and wore less over a year then the BFG all terrain! they do seem to be kinda big in the british isles and australia though. i was just curious to see if anyone else was running them.

My 94 had Nexen SUV tires on it when I bought it. Put about 5000 miles on them and they seemed to hold up good, didn't really do any off road with them. Took them off when I did my lift and changed to Treadwright tires. Got 30/9.5/15 for $63 each and $75 shipping for all four. Check out Treadwright.com

ok, so here's another question... how is the mileage or tread wear on the retreaded tires? cause lemme tell ya, the price is there, but if i'm gonna get 1/2 the miles on a tire that is 1/2 the price, what is the point? you know what i mean?

I'm running them right now on my XJ, so far they seem good. I haven't had them long enough to report mileage, off road they perform good.

Not that it is a Jeep, but I have some Nexan tires on my 08 Honda Civic, and I really like them. The were the right price, and seem to be wearing really good. I have put about 15,000 miles on them thus far and am very happy with them.

Like stated. You get what you pay for!
I got a buddy who has some cheap off brand tires and they are trash! They get chewed up really bad in the desert (not that good ones wont) but i suggest saving up man. Mine are almost bald! I push my tires to the limit! I will have some in the next couple weeks because i feel mine spinning on the street when i take off hard and in the rain...we wont even go their. I am getting BFG MTRs Will be about 1100 mounted balanced with road hazard.

A lot of the "off" brand tire names are actually made by the big name tire companies. Mud King's are made by BFG, Remington Mud Brutes are made by Dunlop, and I'm sure there are more like that.
I've looked high and low for a bad review of Treadwright's and CANNOT find a single bad review of them, I'm thinking about getting a set myself, I like those "Guard Dog"s, they look just like the old Goodyear MT/R's, I LOVED those things, I can't for the life of me, figure out why in the hell they changed the tread to that new style tread, the new MT/R's look AWFUL, and they also look like they would'nt be that good of a "mud" tire, if you can't tell, I HATE the new MT/R's,lol, sorry about the rant there.

yea, i found the same thing about the treadwrights. everyone who has owned them have loved them, the only people saying bad things about them are the people who haven't tried them! they would rather spend double or even triple the money on brand new tires, but i guess thats all for peace of mind.

All i gots to say is, they are DOT approved, have a DOT number, 1/2 the price of big name tires with the same tread pattern, and they are recycled. all that spells OK in my book.
