The fly in the ointment here is that the air charge, entering via the throttle body, is not also ionized. If the intake air could be ionized too then all the protons would stand-up near the top of cylinder before combustion and the polarized fuel-air charge would ignite from the top to the bottom of the cylinder, creating a controlled burn. Oh, wait-a-minute, that's what the dual-quench type of combustion chamber was designed to do for the internal combustion engine anyway. Doh!

Call me crazy, but I think every new car made would have a magnet on the fuel line if it made even a little bit of a difference in gas mileage.
