Neither have I, but I want to for towing a small trailer for camping pretty soon. I've heard that the Jeeps are wired for trailers, you just have to locate the wires and pull them out and attach fittings to them, is that right? My Jeep came stock with no trailer hitch. Also, whats a good price for a hitch, can I unbolt one off of a Jeep at my local pick a part? Any information would be great. Might not even need to do this if my Jeep sells soon, but I would rather be ready for my camping trip with my Jeep just in case it doesn't sell before I go out. Thanks all
I put a hitch on mine about six years ago for a pop-up camper. I got it from my cousins auto parts store, so I didn't pay full price. It bolts on with 6 or 8 bolts through the rear sub frame. The wiring plugs in under the rear panel, behind the spare tire. I just wind up the trailer plug wire under the spare tire pedestal, and place it out under the hatch when I need it. That way it stays out of the weather. I don't use it much, so bringing it out when I need it works good for me.

I've put a couple on. The last was just a few years ago and about $125 or so from the trailer dealer. The first was more $ back in '96 and was sourced from the local Jeep dealer. I think there were 4 bolts on each side and bolted into a nut strip inserted from the rear of the frame rails. Behind the interior panel on the driver's side in the back is a T-connector that will accomodate trailer lights.
