Default Any way to convert my part time to full time?

On my way home from my evening class tonight, it was pouring rain on the freeway, and I realized how nice it would be to have power to all 4 wheels (missing my Rover I guess you could say), and wanted to know if there is a conversion for making the 231 a full time / adding in full time to it, or a simple way of swapping in a 242?

No way to make the 231 full time.
I think a 242 swap is pretty simple, but maybe someone will post that has done it.

ANNNNDDDD..... If you want to get technical, theres really only power going to two tires unless you have f/r lockers.

Just make sure the input shaft is the same length and same spline count and change your shifter.

Some jeeps came with full time which is capable of having 4 wheel drive (Not Locked but slipping) while driving on the pavement as well as off road. You would need to "lock it" in 4 wheel for best performance...Tj

PT or 4HI or 4LO = NEVER on pavement, FT = ANY TIME.

4FT Full Time is ment for the street. The TC has a Open Diff, so supplies most of the power to the rear unless traction is lost then transfers to the front. Part Time locks the TC dif, spliting power front/rear
