Hey all-
I've recently started dealing with my 94 Sport stalling. When it runs, it runs perfectly. Then, it started hiccuping just a little, once in awhile. Then, it stalled, once in awhile. No low idle or running rough or anything; It would just die very quickly.
Today it started stalling like crazy, every 50 feet, and didn't want to start again. After a few minutes of cranking and sitting, I could get it to start, only to have it die again after driving a few feet.
So, I went through and looked for obvious bad/shorted wires. I unplugged the PCM and cleaned and re-greased the connectors. I re-greased the CPS plug. I checked half a dozen other connectors. Didn't go as far as to remove the distributor cap, but the plugs looked great, and the wires had no corrosion on the ends.
Having read a TON of stuff on here and other Jeep forums about the CPS causing these random stall problems on Cherokees that otherwise ran fine, I decided to have a go. Bought a new one, but I CANNOT figure out how to get to the old one. I can see it, but can't even get a wrench or socket on it from top or bottom side. I can get one down there, but I just spent 2 hours dancing around with it trying to get it on the bolt.
Does anyone know what size bolts it has? Any tips on how to get to the #)(@&*#&@ed thing? Am I completely off-base here about thinking this is caused by the CPS?

IIRC their 10mm, I accessed the cps from underneath. Used two swivel attacments and three extentions. I also dropped the front drive shaft for easier access, but its not necesary. I've got big fat hands and arms, so it was a bit harder for me.

I may have to invest in some swivels this weekend.
Any more takers?
