Did you use the herculiner or some other brand? How much liner does it take for 3 coats? I herculined my pickup and it is nice rubberized stuff, but it didn't go far. I think one gallon barely did a standard length Ranger bed.

Go to a sporting goods store and get a spray bottle of human odor remover. (Ghost works great) Spray your seats down really well with it. I talked to a rep and they sell more Ghost to auto detailers than sporting goods stores.
I've detailed for 20 years and I'm looking forward to cleaning the jeep out in the spring. I hope it works as well on the Jeep as it does me!

You might also try a large quantity of kitty litter left out in the XJ with the doors closed & windows rolled up for a weekend or longer...it might be less expensive than coffee/charcoal.
HTH.
Good luck!
I'm still trying to get rid of the dog hair in the back of my XJ from the PO's dogs. (Luckily they were able to hold their water...)

There is a write up in the forum about removing the seat covers/skins without destroying them (if you have cloth seats).

Then you can remove your carpet and headliner. Commercial washing machine can be used to wash the seat covers. Getting a power-washer to blast the carpets then letting them air dry for a day or two can clean the carpets.

Removing the insulation and replacing it with closed-cell foam and you're ready to re-install.

Here is a pic of how well the seats clean up....left seat is cleaned and the right seat was before cleaning...there is a write up in xj write ups I believe on how to do this.....its easy and not too time consuming...i used the washing machine i have at home, and used upholstery cleaner, let them soak for 1/2 hour or so and then just ran them through like normal laundry.....of course there is no woman living here to say....WTH are you DOING?????

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH FREAKING CLASSIC!!!!

I had the same issue with my XJ when I first got it. Guy used to haul around hay bails...smelled horrible. I junked the rear carpet, and left the doors open/windows down for a few days. tossed in a fresh vanilla pine tree scent...mmmm heaven now!

Search the cherokee forums, there are a few posts on how to remove the stock seat covers to wash them.

We use use Simple Green on everything. Pulling the seat covers off and washing them looks good but doesn't get the puke, pee, soda or whatever is in the seat cushions out.We pull the seats spray them down with Simple Green and power wash them. For smoke we use Smoke Odor Exterminator it has a enzyme that attacks the smoke odor not just cover it up.

a little left of center, but as a deodorizer for that damp Jeep smell after rain, or the general funk of hunting season, orange peels work really well to pull odor.
