Default Any reason to stay away from 16s?

im looking to get crager soft 8's 16" wheels with firestone destination m/t's. anyone have any reasons to not go with 16s? also how does backspacing with 16s differ?

more expensive tires, and less rubber for example a 15" rim 31" tire vs a 16" rim 31" tire you are going to have 1" less rubber sidewall (1/2" per side) which means a little less meat to cushion the bumps. Probably is not going to make a world of difference but still something to think about

tires are definitely more expensive.

what size tire where you gonna run on them?

tires are not named 31x10.5 15 they are 265x75 16 so it is a little harder to get what size you want on height, and they are much more expensive tires. the only reason to run 16's on a tire smaller then 40 inches is if you have brakes that require it.

thanks guys thats what i was going after, ill probably stick with my 15s then but when i go up to 31s will i have issues with stock backspacing? i have a 2" lift

Some have issues, and some do not with rubbing at full lock. As for clearance going up, You may need to cut fenders and or increase length of bump stops.
