There've been a number of posts on the site about Jeeps with taller lifts. They're not rare, but I wouldn't say they're particularly common, either.

Clayton Offroad makes 8" springs, Rustys makes 9" coils...All you gotta do is a little searching at some of the sites that sells lift kits and you will find something close. My guess would be 9" coils might be the largest you will find for up front..Then it's spacers..

For leaves you are look at likely 6-7" at max and after that you are likely looking at shackles and blocks to get that tall...

I honestly do not see why anyone in their right mind would ever want to go over 6" or so of lift. 10"+ you would be so out of balance and would tip so easily it would be nothing more then a street queen..

He did say it was for mud. Not the usual trail for most of us.

There's a kid that has 14" lift (i think somewhere around that) I'll look it up and see who it is.

the whole purpose of going up this high is to run tractor tires. the tires measure 35ish tall 12.5 wide. there was a guy running them on a s10 blazer this weekend but had about 2 feet between the tire and the wheel well. where i go mudding you have to travel through a canal about 1/2 mile. the way my truck sits now i was at the floor boards with water. and thats just to get out to where we are going, it does get worse. i was also thinking about big bump stops. but i would like to be a little higher.

i guess my biggest question is the negatives to going up that high.

Sometimes when you get almost done with a "project" you look back and ask yourself, "Why didn't I just start from scratch?" By the time you get done lifting that XJ 10+ the only thing XJ will be the look of the body. You'll look back and the time, trouble and money and say I could had this or that. If I wanted a rig like what your talking about, I'd go the junkyard and grab an old pickup with full width axles take everything off the frame and make a buggy out of it. It would be cheaper and easier. If you start with a chevy or ford that sprung all the way around you won't have any trouble at all goin that high.

10" lift would need some big meats. THe stock axles wouldn't handle it. You need special drive shafts. Steering would have to be totally custom. I don't think that the stock powertrain would satisfy you when it tries to turn those monster tires. SO if you wanna keep the sixer you turbo charge it then the tranny and transfer can't handle that.......I mean its totally possible and I love the square-o-kee as much as the next buy but you have to ask yourself if its really what you want.

Just a thought Im not sure so someone correct me if Im wrong but stock F150 ciols lift you around 4 inches right. So what about getting lift springs for and F150 to get your 10 + inches.

Post Reply it's as easy as putting a 2" lift on...

only problem is steering angles are so outta wack they stink to drive whithout a cross over system.

The inner C's will need to be clocked for proper steering geometry and proper pinion angle.
