Default Any one here dealed with a CPS Before?

So tommarow am going to work on my xj again, thinking of gettin it running tommarow also. but in order to do that i have to change my CPS (Crankshaft Position Sensor). i know that its located right at the end of the motor where the tranny starts. And its going to be a pain to get it out. So i was wondering if any of you guys have dealed with this before, how do i do it, and how should i do it.

Here is a link to an article that gets into replacement of the crank sensor.

http://www.go.jeep-xj.info/HowtoCPSchange.htm

Have you TESTED it to be sure that it is your problem?

Almost everybody on this site has had to replace their CPS. Removing the front drive shaft from the front axle will give you some more room to work with.

Hiya...
Changed it before...working from under the jeep works for me..
Just need an extention for the ratchet....
Basically, I m working "blind"....
Once I know the position of the nuts...I just feel rather then see it...
My jeep is 2" lifted...so just nice...need not have to extend or bend my arm too much...furthermore...being asian...i can roll in and out from my jeep....lucky me
Things can get pretty cramp if u do have big hands...i suggest u soak ur hands in dry ice before changing it if u do hv big handskidding
Good luck...hope all will go well
