Default Any leaf swaps for lift?

Are there any leaf springs from a stock vehicle that will bolt right up to the Axle/hangars on an XJ? Mine look like they're sagging and I wouldn't mind going a little higher than stock.

The reason I ask is because I know an Explorer leaf pack can be put on a Ranger to allow for about 2.5" of lift if you flip the center bolt. I was just wondering if there was the same type of deal with XJ's and some other SUV/Truck.

I read somewhere that a 91 Dodge Dakota would work. But, last weekend I saw a build and the guy cut the dakota springs and added them to his existing pack. So I'm starting to think there is not.

Usually guys suplement their XJ packs with a leaf or 2 out of a leaf pack from a Dakota or an s-10. Using the whole S-10 or Dakota pack might put you up too high, as they are SOA axles, and it might just jack you up 6 inches or so.

That wouldn't be a problem. It would save me the trouble of having to purchase rear lift componets, since 3-4 inches is how high I want to go anyway.

And that is the difference between Ranger and Explorer packs as well, which is why you have to flip the bolt. It would probably be around 4" of lift or so max. That might be how much the Explorer springs lift Rangers as well, I can't really remember that well.

Just looked through that link. It's exactly what I was looking for. The F150 springs are used in the Ranger budget lift as well.

Thanks!

I started thinking about cost. I went through the "budget lift" for the XJ and here are the totals I came up with.

Leafs: 53.
Leaf pins: 5.
Leaf clips: 5.
Sway extensions: 7
Coils: 100 (I would go with the flexier Grand Cherokee coils)
Spacers: 35.
Shocks: 100.

That comes to a grand total of about 305, for the budget lift using a bastard pack and several cob-job componets. Instead, I can get Rusty's 3" add a leaf lift for 265, or the RC kit for 255. Sure it's an inch shorter, but I can throw a lift shackle or something on the back and a spacer in the front and be at 5" of lift or so. I think RC has a 2" shackle lift for 50 bucks or so.

Budget doesn't seem so.. budgeted once you add all of the costs togeather.

Don't forget to add in your own time and labor rate. LOL. The Rusty's complete one purchase right? The budget looks like it take hours of prep and travel time just to get set to get ready.

Yeah, just one purchase. Plus I wouldn't have to go through the extra work to pull parts from vehicles. The nearest junkyard is about 40 miles away and I would have to borrow a vehicle unless I have the Jeep on the road. I don't plan on fitting parts in my Zx2, I barely fit in it and my tools take up 75% of the trunk. (it has a good amount of trunk space, but I keep alot of tools in it and extra supplies incase I'm stranded somewhere)

I don't remember, but the RC kit does. I'll probably go with the RC kit anyway, since it's nearly the same and it's a tad cheaper. Not to mention the shackles will be from them as well, so I can just order both at the same time.

Somebody correct if I'm wrong, but once you go above 3" you need to get LCA'S Adjustable track bar and possible a SYE

What is the biggest spacer/shackle combo you can do with 3" lift with out running into other problems?

I have a 3in lift on the front and 2in spacers,on the rear I have the S-10 bastard pack which gave me 4.5in and I have my stock control arms, track bar and no SYE.I wheel it pretty hard core alot and had no problems.
