Default Anti theft horn keeps blaring?

Ok, this one takes a bit of backstory. I've had my 98 XJ since summer of 2012. The fall of the same year, the head cracks. It's been sitting by my house due to lack of funds until about a month ago. I dropped in a new battery and fired it right up (awesome right?). However as soon as I opened the door the anti theft horn keeps going off. I couldn't figure out how to stop it so for the moment, I pulled the relay controlling it. But that means I have no horn at all. Any one know how to either A. remove the anti theft component or B. just turn the anti theft off? My power locks don't work anyway and I don't know where the remote to the alarm is...

Is it an OEM set up or after market? I never had to deal with an OEM system. But if after market you can just remove fairly simple. You just have to make sure to reconnect the wires that were cut for it.

The OEM alarm is awful. There is a button by the drivers side kick panel by your left foot that will shut the alarm off. I'm trying to remember, maybe others will chime in, but I believe you may need to hold that button in while you start it. There are also a process with the rear hatch lock that affects the alarm. I would search the site.

Once I got everything back to normal, I just leave it in valet mode by pressing and holding the blinking red light on the dash. Once in valet mode the light will blink more rapidly. Good luck.

It's OEM I'm pretty sure. And what blinking red light on the dash? I don't guess I've noticed that one.
