Default another starter noise ?

I have a 89 jeep 4.0 auto that I put a new starter in last year, everything was fine forabout 6 months and then it made a terrible noise like everything was broken and loose but tried again and worked fine for about 2 months or so and again it sounded like it wasn,t going to engage right,by now I,m quick on the key to stop it.Again it started fine for another couple months and yesterday it it did the same.I know if I have a bad tooth on the flywheel it would be more than 2-3 months at a time, wouldn,t it,I start the truck about 8 times a day 7 days a week.Could it be electrical ,in the key switch maybe ?

You answered your own question. More then likely when it makes the noise the starter is at the bad spot on the flex plate. The only way you are going to take care of it is to replace the flex plate.
