Yet another question for the experts here. The PO had this piece of power cord attached the bare point in the pictures and then to the positive lead voting to the battery. Any ideas on what he was trying to do and if I can just leave it off or if I need to wire something else in? thanks

That looks like the starter relay, I can get you a pic of how mine is wired in the morning (still more or less stock) ... I take it this is not a currently running vehicle?

 

That would be great. I'm trying to get this one up and running before I move.
