Another possible Jeep-1994 XJ. Opinions?
Looking at another Jeep...a 1994 with 171K on it. Asking price was $650 but I think I could take it away for $400 from what I'm being told. Not sure though. It's a 4 door. White with grey interior.
Here are the issues: Rocker panel rust. Needs a crankshaft pos. sensor. Rear bumper is dented/damaged. Has a cracked exhaust manifold.
As far as I know, it runs and drives and he says he's had it for 4 years with that crack and it's basically just made the underside of the hood pretty dirty. I'm not familiar with what that would do though. Is it the sort of thing one could fix with some of that magic weld crap? I imagine it would cut into the already poor mileage these things tend to get...
So-looking for opinions here. Sorry to keep running to you folks every time I see a definitive possibility on the horizon, I'm just not as familiar with Jeeps as I am with motorcycles.
Thanks!

Right now, it starts when it wants to but it does run. I was thinking of just picking up a sensor from a junkyard and bringing it with me and having him start it and then having him start it with the one I bring to see if it makes a difference.
And that Jeep looks nice, but I'm in NY and the trip to Wisconsin and back would make that $600 Jeep jump to at least $800 with gas for a car to get out there and then to get that one back. Nah. I'll stick a bit more local. Unless that one drops to 400 too.

just thought I'd run it by ya- I bought mine then saw that ad and went "damn- I should have bought that one!".
Well for 400 you really can't go wrong. That is what I paid for mine as well. If you are buying it as a project and expect to have to do some wrenching to make it reliable I see no reason not to buy it.

Yeah I appreciate it, it looks like a nice one. It's like giving a crack addict the address of a crack house a few states over though. I used to consistently travel to get things-especially motorcycles-that would end up costing way more in the long run because it was a "good deal" at the time. Yeah, I'm that guy .
And I'm also really good at finding those once in a lifetime deals-I've found quite a few of those and I'm hoping to repeat it. Besides, I'm financially poor, $400 is actually a decent amount for me, sadly enough. Meh.
