Default Another OEM Fog Switch Question...

1999 Sport, no factory fog lights...

I have read a bunch of threads on adding fog lights, repairing the OEM switch, etc etc etc. My question is, WITHOUT CUTTING THE OEM SWITCH HARNESS IN THE DASH, how can I power up a set of aftermarket lights using an OEM dash switch? Where does the light blue (trigger) wire terminate? Can I tap into that wire somewhere in the engine compartment to trigger a relay? I can't find any wiring connectors behind the bumper that would indicate I have a factory harness already in place, so I'm guessing I don't have any pins in place at the fuse block either (have not checked yet, this is web theory ). Regardless, what I ultimately want to do is control an aftermarket set of lights with my factory switch, WITHOUT CUTTING THE FACTORY SWITCH HARNESS... Thanks for any info.

The light blue wire should go to the fog lamps, it's the power wire.
You can use it to power a relay, then power the aftermarket lights through the relay, although they will only operate when the low beams are on...same as the factory fogs did.

YOu could use the splice conenctors and piggy back the wires for the stock switch. Or find another OEM switch to replace with and jus disconnect the factory plug.

Thanks for the replies fellas!

I guess what I meant to ask was, where physically does the light blue wire go? Again, I don't have factory fogs so I don't have the plugs at the bumper... But, if I'm reading the wiring diagram properly, I need to install the two relays in the PDC, which should power the switch, and ultimately kick power through the light blue wire out to somewhere??? That would be pretty easy, but again I'm also not sure I even have the pins/wiring in place for those relays, so I need to start there first. I guess if I don't have any of that in place, I have no choice but to splice into the factory harness behind the switch?

I think I'd do it the simple way and run +12V to the switch in the dash, then run the switch output to a relay under the hood and use that to power the new lights.

Well, that's how it'll have to be... When I got home from work I checked the PDC and sure enough, no pins where the fog light relays are supposed to reside So, my only choice is the wire the factory switch the old fashioned way. Time for another hole in the firewall.
