Default another newbie lift question - but simple

I have a 1997 6 cyl 4 door.
I was wanting a 1.75"-2" lift.

I have heard about "death wobble" and such with jeeps, but I do not know if a CHEAP lift of this size will cause this problem(s). I have lifted before with broncos and f150's, so I am only new to jeeps.

I am looking at a 2-3 different kits on ebay
#1 (spacers front and helper spring in the rear)
#2 (spacers front and shackles in the rear)
"yes i know the action has run out but that is not the point"

Or you anyone knows of kits that do not req. shocks and that is less than $140. I want to spend money on TIRES!!

This jeep is ONLY driven in November and December!! And when it is driven on the road it must make it though the snow of MO and TN.

This jeep is used 70% of the time on the road, but the other 30% I would like to have a set of 30" mud tires. So if you have any thoughts about this please post.

thanks poorboy

1.75"-2" lift you will want shocks. Running on the road the shocks will top out and the ride will suck... off road they will top out even more often.
Can it be done? Yes.
Put 30's on it at stock height, and lift it when you can throw some shocks into the equation.

On my last XJ I ran a 2" budget boost on stock shocks and was just fine, but it was mostly street use so I didn't have to worry about bottoming them out. You won't need to worry about death wobble with that size lift. I would go with the spacers/shackles, since shackles can be added to other lifts later, but the AAL can't. Both shackles and AAL will wear out stock springs, but the AAL will do it quicker.

I ran 1" blocks for a while... generally it's not recommended with the soft stock leafs... I had no issues but am not going to say it's the right thing to do.

I'd consider blocks, even though many people will dog you out for them. My father-in-law runs 2" spacers/blocks and has no problems. I wouldn't go higher than 2" though.

What rear end do you have, I have a set of blocks (1 1/2 inch) and u bolts for a Dana 35 (no nuts used them on someone else's lift) left over from my RC kit. I'd sell them for 20 plus shipping.

PS: Blocks are factory shimmed at 2 degrees to help with vibration.
