So I got a '94 XJ 2wd (for now) 5-speed, 4.0L 3" Zone AAL. And I got that damn bug.....So I was looking to add Rusty's budget boost spacers and shackles. I think this would put me around 5" lift total. What would have to be done with the drive line, in order to maintain ride quality? LCA? SYE? also, what tires would look good on a XJ with a 5" lift without having to regear? Keeping in mind this is my DD.
Thanks guys,
J

Sell it and get a 4wd before you waste the money lifting a 2wd... You'll save a lot of laughter from your friends and others when you go 4 wheeling and can't make it up the first hill.
Sorry, but you asked...

You may not need a SYE, but just a YJ slip yoke instead. You will need new lower control arms and probably a new track bar. You aren't going off road with just 2WD are you?

Nope.... And thank you. I already have the front axle, a D30 out of a '96. Just got to peice together the tranny, and t-case. It will be 4wd as soon as I get the rest of the stuff....so a YJ slip yoke should do it?

It will if you pay attention to the angle of the tcase and differential. Make them as close as possible. Many lift kits due to the way the leaf springs are arched or with the addition of shims make the SYE necessary. But if the angles are right you can just use the YJ yoke and call it good.
