another lift build question.....

im sorry but i have done alot of research and of course im asking for opinions, im a high school student and need some advise. i mostly use my xj for a dd and wheel about twice a month. mostly desert and some mud. i have about a grand to spend and want to lift it ( with lifting it i know i need bigger tires) i heard good and bad things about all compaines. im looking for a complete kit around 3 to 4 inches. looking at RC RE and iron rock. im hoping to get a biased help. the tires im looking for will most likely be a/ts what size and brand will fit the 3-4 inch lift? thanks for the advise
