Another Jeep not running.
So the problem is I was driving from my friends house after cleaning my car, about a mile later when i was driving it just died. No sputter or anything. almost like i just turned it off the ignition while driving.
Now it just cranks and cranks and wont start
Previously when i was cleaning i pulled the seats and center console to deep clean. Putting everything back i had trouble getting the keys out, it wouldn't want to get in the lock position so i could pull the key out.
So far i replaced the cps today and no luck.
Its a 92 cherokee. AW4, NP242, 4.0ho.
Please help

Try looking at the engine control fuse it should be a 30 amp in the engine compartment..a while after i bought my Cherokee it was blowing fuses for the engine control every once in a while and what would happen is it just shut off while driving and then cranking to no avail...so yeah check that fuse and if its bad just go for the 40amp fuse and call it good. I did that after i kept blowing the 30 amps and haven't had a problem since....=)

neutral safety switch? nevermind it wouldnt crank that way
First thing I would check is pull the coil wire and see if it arcs to the block, that is probably the first and easiest trouble shoot you can do, then move to the fuel system to see if you have pressure

Ok I'm assuming put the key in the RUN position, pull the coil wire from the cap end and see if it arcs?
And pardon my grammar before, but what I meant to say was how would I go about troubleshooting the fuel pressure.

to check the fuel pressure there will be a small fitting on the fuel rail on the intake manifold
unscrew the cap and get a pressure gauge and screw it in and it should read whatever your year XJ called for, if its low or zero, it could be a bad filter or pump
