Why scrap it? Jeeze people give up way too easily. Bring it to a good frame shop and have them take a look (I would think they have frame shops in France) . A little tug here, a pull there, and she will be straight and narrow once again. When I did repairables (fix insurance salvage totalled vehicles) I fixed ALOT worse with full confidence in the vehicle so much so my girlfriend drives one I did. Bring it to private frame shops and they will not do the unrepairable bit on you (translated I the mechanic don't think you have any money and even if you did I don't feel like doing the job). Must be a low unemployment rate over there to turn work away lol.
In December I hit the railing of an off-ramp, all I had was a bent fender and rear quarter panel (no unibody damage). The guy I talked to asked me for something like 1000€ ($1,300) saying it would be an easy fix... So imagine a bent unibody frame!!!
Lazy SOBs... but I will go out and ask around, trust me, I love this Cherokee more than anything else, my biggest fear is letting it go one day...
I was devastated at first but a close friend started learning the (few) lines of monologue I spit out during the scene. The bastard cries of laughter each time he plays it back! That eases the pressure and somehow cheers you up!
I laugh of it too now, knowing that I'm still alive... the dog who was wondering by the tree too, thankfully...
Also yes this is only on one side, the damage on the left side is very very minor... This affects the leaf spring mount but the stock spring compensated so the XJ sits level. I am afraid that after the lift it will be tilted, however, until I fix it...
Yes I did (Is my XJ saying no?) but that was the aftershock of not being able to install the lift because my alt seized up on the way to the garage where I was supposed to do it that very day. I started a thread to ask advice about what to do with my XJ and its many problems...
Nope, it's the 4.0s that are very rare... Wanna swap??? lol
Haha, not sure, couldn't I break it even more?

Most typical body shops only do minor frame work. Look for a shop that specializes in frame repair, you wouldn't believe what a good shop can do. Many of them in the US are listed as Frame and Axle repair and don't do any paint/body panel work. That's where the typical body shops take them for frame stretching and realignment.

Probably would be good to see a picture of the bumper and it's mount on that side. Also pull up the carpet and see if the floor is tweaked at all. Also, how is the gap around the hatch?
If the hatch gap is okay and the floor is flat, I would wrap a chain around that hitch and tie it to an unmoveable object and heat that part of the frame up with a torch (protecting the gas tank in the process though). Then with a few swift jerks and a BFH you should be able to get most of that kink out- enough that it won't matter. Exercise extreme caution, this isn't child's play.

I'm not sure, I'll give it a shot but it is highly probable that it will cost more than buying another XJ.

I'll do my best but I won't be able to take another picture until Wednesday...

Looks more wild and adventurous!
