Anyone know how to get these pieces off or if I can?

I'm referring to the chrome around my window and what looks like a chrome rain catch or something
Just wanna paint them, would it be easier to keep them on and paint?

Chrome rain gutters?! Well I'll take them off your hands if you do get them off. Clueless on that part. be gentle.

As for the windshield trim, there is a special tool that looks like a two prong fork. Most parts stores have them. prys off.

If you tape VERY well around what you're painting you don't have to take them off. That's what I did with my plastic trim on my '00.

Or that new Krylon Fusion. Stuff works GREAT! Used it on fiberglass, plastic, metal and even old pressboard. Just like any paint prep is key. been 2 years, a little fade no flaking.

Yes this will work but be aware that you will see the scratches if they are deep. Light scuff. If you clean it well with alcohol you can paint right over it.

The chrome on the rain gutter is probably just that stick-on crap you buy in rolls at the auto parts store, so grab a hold of one end and pull. Use a bit of heat (hair dryer, heat gun) if you need to make it easier.

As for the windshield molding, maybe you can replace it with the newer rubber trim?

Nah, some of the older XJs came with real chrome trim.

It would be easier to leave them alone. The chrome looks good on a silver Jeep
