i have a 2000 cherokee sport. i recently put a new radiator in and shortly after my check engine lite came on. i ran the codes and i got 2, one for the ambient temp sensor high and one for the ambient temp low. i don,t have a thermometer in my cherokee or anything so i don,t know why that would be coming up. if anyone has any suggestions that would be great.

you'll need the exact code numbers to find out which sensor problem you are dealing with as there is more than one temp sensor. i just had to replace the one for the ambient battery temperature..

All of the 97+ xj's are wired for the optional ambient temp sensor. It is located at the center of the jeep in front of the rad. did you pinck the harness anywhere? if the 2 wire sensor harness got pinched it would set a high(open circuit)low(shorted) code.
Good luck!

yeah there are something like 3 or 4 "ambient temp sensors" which is why you need the check engine light code to see which one.
