Default am i safe ? plz help

hello all
now that its been raining and the mud is all over the place, i hooked my double gear garden to use it if i am stuck in the mud
but since i bought my jeep, i used to see an oil next to the tire in the front, on the driver side tire, now its been two years since i bought my jeep, few days ago i realized that it was oil leaking from the oil seal of the front axle, i did check if it got oil in it and there was no oil, i re-filled it again and it is leaking big time, some ppl told me that it is dangerous to drive it now because it might be damaged from the inside, the metal could jam in any minute causing the jeep to stop at high speed and i might be dead by that ..
ppl adviced me to change the whole front axle from the junkyard ..
do u guys think i should do that ? or anyone have any ideas what should i do ? could it really jam ?
i go every day to work and it is far away from home .. so i have to drive like 140 km/h
thanks

Why not replace the inner seals and fill it with fluid?

Even if you have to take it to a shop, its an easy job and shouldnt cost much

i dont mind taking it to a shop to replace the seals, my question is, could the metal be damaged inside ? the ring pinion and all whats inside ?
cause at high speeds .. i hear some noise under me .. i dont know it is the axle making that noise or the engine itself..

Hard to tell in a XJ, shop will tell you if theres damage, dont ask, cause than they might just say yes for extra $$$
