Aluminum Rims

I just bought a set of aluminum rims that were corroded as can be from michigan salt and was wondering if anyone knew what i could use to take the clear coat and the corrosion off without damaging the rims of course. anyone know of what I can do? Im kinda kickin myself in the ***** for buying these....

It depends how bad they are in... some autosol and a lot or rubbing or a sand blaster and some wheel paint! A friend and I refinished a few sets of fact alluminum wheels before we could afford new ones lol!

theres some crap i used on my very dull aluminum wheels and it brought them back to a nice shine. Heres a pic of the stuff and the drill attachment i used (came with a headlight restoration kit)

heres a before and after wheel, think i did one more polishing with the wheel after this pic.

the pictures dont really show how bad they used to look and how good they do now, but there is a big difference
