I recently tried to upgrade my 95 XJ stock 90 amp alternator with a Bosch 120 amp alternator. The 120 is bigger in diameter than the 90 so I had to grind down some material on the bracket to make it fit the bracket. But, there is still material in the way on the engine block, so it was a bust, I am returning the 120 and going back to the 90 until I can figure out if there is a different model year alternator bracket that will hold a larger alternator and fit the mounting points on my engine block. If anybody knows anything that will help, please let me know.
