Default Alternator Problems please help

Hey guys havent been here on a while but i have a major problem. My 1989 jeep comanche 4x4 6cyl is acting up big time. What happen was that my alternator is bad i think. The reason i say i think is because before when i replaced it and disconnected the battery it still didnt work. Then i pushed all the fuses in with my thumb then it worked. So i put my old one back in and it still worked so i returned the new one to save money. Now im having the same problem but when i push in fuses nothing still happens. I am going to get a new one 2marow and try it from autozone. IF that does not work what should i do? could it be the fuses some how? please help!

Before you buy a new one, take the old one off and take it to a parts store for testing.

^This. Autozone or Advance Auto can often do this. Unfortunately the test doesn't show real capacity numbers or anything since it's just a pass/fail test, but still good to rule out your alt as a problem.

After having you alt bench tested you need try cleaning all of the grounding points. Including the connections to the starter.

Does your car turn on? This happened to me last week.
How was it when you drove? Did your lights dim, the voltmeter go down to 9?

Yeah it's your alternator. Because that keeps your battery going

At least you didn't have to buy a new alt.
