okay, so i am tired of replacing my alternator every time I drive through a little water or mud. I was curious to see how other people deal with this problem?

Well a little water or mud has not evwer been a problem with mine. I have a 130Amp GC converted to fit my Cherokee.

 

I have gone through two alternators in the past 2 years....luckily...i buy ones with lifetime warranties

 

The AZ ones will not last even if they are mounted on top of the engine. Mine was built by the local Starter/Altenator rebuild shop. They do lots of work on most county and state owned trucks.

 

I got ya.... do they make water resistant ones? What about the Mean Green ones?

 

i have hurd and read great things about the mean green, never gotten one yet. i dunno if this really works but i hear from back yard mechanics that if u put marine greese on it will help it be water resitant. dunno if it will work but worth a shot.

 

I have a powermaster 170 amp alternator and I love it. some would say its the bees knees. yes I had to do alot of moding to get it to fit

 

mine never dies, just stop working till you clean it

 

i cant imagine the marine grease being good for it either
