Thanks guys Ill find out how to and check the brake today. I have a newish tps sensor(maybe a year old). The replacement of that had no effect on this issue. Thanks Anony for all the info. Definitely gives me more to look into. I might replace the TRS as well after checking the break.
The TCM for a '97 XJ won't work. In '98 a second transmission speed sensor was introduced so the TCM will be looking for the inputs from both the Input Speed Sensor and the Output Speed Sensor.
The TCM from a '98 thru '01 XJ will work. OEM part number 56041 386

Thank you man! So if the brake is not adjustable I guess I'de either have to replace the whole thing or that is not the problem huh? and thanks for the link.
