does any body have any tips on keeping the alternater dry or atleast from frying i flooded my jeep today and when i finally got my self out i found out my alternater was shot

Can only think of 2 options. 1. Stay on Dry ground. 2. Build brackets to move it higher, swap locations with AC.

Seal that bad boy.. or run a switch to turn off the alt while in water.

how would i go by sealing it? Some one told me to put something on the connections like vasaline or something to keep them dry,

how would putting a switch on it work? what would i have to do for that
