so i have a 7" long arm and just got my motor swapped in and now i need to dive it home. my slip yoke was binding cause of too much lift so i removed the u-joint and grinded down some metal off the slip yoke so the u-joint would clear. it was not rebalanced but i did a pretty good job on it. seems fine when i tested it at 40mph. do you think a wing it job is good enought for a 150 mile highway trip?

 

only one way to find out..... I hope you ordered a SYE kit to be at your door step when you get home!

 

i would do a cheap Tcase drop to make it home tho...

 

Another option is a slip yoke from a YJ. I'm running one on my 3.5" lift with about an 1" added to the driveshaft

 

yea i have a rigid one sitting in my garage waiting to go on, it was just a temp fix, i just need to get it home first. there was no way i was paying a shop to put it in, waste of money!

Should be fine. sounds like your a gearhead though, so I suggest throwing together some square tube spacers and just drop your case. Should only take about 20 minutes to do.

 

cant do that, have long arm kit. but i got home fine and no wobble at all. maybe a slight vibration but i took it up to 100mph with no issue. i did fing a mystrious leak from my tranny right above the cross member though, cant seem to find the source yet.
