I have that in my jeep I just bought. I think its for the remote that came with mine. The guy never used it but it has remote start, unlock and lock, and a trunk/hatch button too. I use it all the time but the damn locks themselves on the doors are "sticky" and wont unlock or lock sometimes correctly. But I THINK thats what that is for. Not positive. Any one please correct me if I am wrong....

That is the sensor for the factory remote keyless entry, it is not an add on.

kyledye25, if your XJ is equipped with remote start then that IS an aftermarket add on. The sensor the original poster asked about is not.

Hey now, I have a name... lol... anyway, that's kind of weird that it would come with that but it is missing the wiring connections to the fuse block to make it work... there's a spot on the block for it, but no wiring.
