Buck, sorry for my lack of mechanic terms. the motor will turnover fine. it just will not fire and run.
"a crank no start means the engine cranks over but the engine wont fire up and run'' ----- this is my description.

however in past it has sometimes had extended turnover times before acutally firing. then, sometimes engine will fire right up. now it will turn over but it will not fire. like and old car w/0 gas that has a carb. i do not have a fuel pressure gauge but i did prime fuel pump and pressed the needle in on the valve and got a good spray of fuel out of it

from what all i can read online. a cps failure can have several symptoms that i am experiencing. hell one of them is a faulty reading to fuel gauge. it may be out of gas. if thats the case i will apoligize for my stupidity. several articles i have read said that unplugging the cps resets the ecm. i did have a check engine light on before i checked cps. after i reconnected it the CE light went away. all the tests for the cps states should be an open reading on ohm meter. states any resistance calls for it to be replaced. i was reading 4.5-5 ohms. it also stated that a faulty cps can cause a no spark problem as well

If you measured between pins "B" an "C" of the actual plug that goes to the crank sensor (NOT THE ENGINE HARNESS SIDE) and you have any other reading but "OFL" or "O.L." (INFINITE RESISTANCE) Then it appears as though you have a bad crank sensor

ok fellas. cps tested bad so replaced it. still wont fire, so i borrowed fuel testing gauge and have 32-40 psi fuel pressure. i do have spark from plug. my dad seems to think there is something grounding out or a wire loose somewhere. i have racked my brain but i cant come up with anything. the only thing i have done since it was running was taken headliner out and installed a new radio. i have checked all the wires where i worked and everything seems to be normal. the only thing that was not normal was the factory radio hot wire did not have power and it was supposed to be constant so i wired a constant from fuse block. could the battery be bad and causing this trouble of not cranking?? i have had an intermitting cranking and running issue that has not been fixed but now it wont fore and run???

from the information that i can gather online here are some of my potential problems
-fuel pump ballast resistor
- ignition coil
- NSS
- throttle position sensor

i have just replaced the CPS and it cleared the code but has still yet to fire and run. i did have an intermitting firing problem that was not bad. maybe avery 3rd time it would take longer to fire and run. then since the past weekend all it will do is turn over and not fire and run. i have done the following to have had no postive results.
- replace crank sensor
- checked fuell pressure @32-40psi
- i do have spark coming from plug cap.

i have no idea where to go from here. getting aggrivated and dont know if i should just call a rollback and haul it to a shop?? can you guys give me any direction at all??

check all the fuses in the pdc under the hood by the battery .... make sure u have power on both sides of the fuses looks like the 30 amp fuse for the fuel pump/ auto shut down relay goes to the ecu (computer) need to make sure u have power to the ecm its shows a solid red wire is the battery feed to the computer hot at all times... dark blue is the switched power from the ignition switch tee's off at a splice that goes thru the asd relay going into the ecu after changing colors to dark blue/yellow....

the only other thing i see is the sync sensor.
