I had the same issue. Mine was cuz i (re) connected 2 wires in the hatch that i thought came undone. Yea they were not suppose to be connected. Apparently for an optional 3rd brake light or some crap. I replaced fuses and headlight switch. 3 days playing with it and all it was is that i had to disconnect the damn wires i connected...

Default i noticed 2 wires as u stated jim

a blue and a blk wire with rubber over the connectors i almost appears like they belong connected i think i saw them not connected and figured something wasnt working idk does those 2 colors sound like the ones u connected jim??? it was next to the drivers side hatch speaker wires kinda tied into them with a tiewrap

Talking Thanks for the Fix - Cherokee Dash light Fuse

I had done the same thing while installing a new stereo and rear speakers. I had plugged in the Blk/Blue wire inadvertently. It was a bullet connector male/female so I just assumed. AND you know what happens when you assume. I was ready to start tearing up the dash wiring. After a week of searching on the internet, this was the only site that had the common sense answer

Yea they are the 2 wires i spoke of. if you connected the just disconnect and put in a new fuse and you should be good to go.

Default Yup that was totally it

i replaced the fuse and bingo now i have lights but ill have to replace a couple of bolts drill old ones out some in the marker lights just crumbles after one turn oh well i guess thats what u expect on a vehicle thats 20 years old im prolly gonna replace a couple of bulbs while im at it
