Default Are all 4.0 blacks the same?
Thats it, are all blocks the same? If Im switching out one in a 99' Will every thing off the 99 motor fit any other 4.0?

Yes I believe they were all painted black from the factory...lol But in all seriousness I believe they are unless they changed the sensor postions on the 97 and newer cherokees.

Thats what I was thinking the cps was in a different spot. But Im not sure! I need some confirmation!

there is a part number on the side of the block, as long as that is thesame u are ok. there are 2 or 3 different blocks

this # is on the side of the block just below the first freeze plug. and some time in late 99 to 2000 the went to a distributorless ignition system.
