Thats kinda cool. never seen that. i guess its to allow for extra travel when the suspension flexes to prevent the track bar from binding up? but anyway i still think you should get a adjustable track bar so you can center your axle better.

 

If I get an adjustable trac bar can I take off the drop bracket on the axle and put it in it's original location.

Its kinda hard to see my track bar but if you look closly i have mine in the factory location at the bottom with a drop bracket at the top and the adjustable bar and it works great

 

some people use them to allow more flex as some times the tracbar bends the factory axle bracket
