I have a 94 XJ 4.0 with a 3 inch lift and 31/10.50-15 inch tires. It eats front tires. All steering parts are stock. The hubs are good. I have put new ball joints in, new tie rod, new drag link, all new rod and link ends, new steering dampener, the track bar is good and so are the control arms. It wears both front tires bad on the outside which is the toe in is set to far in? (No death wobble after doing all this!) But, I just moved the one tie rod end on the drivers side out 1/4 inch and now it's wearing out the inside of the passenger front tire but not the drivers side. If I am seeing things right - you adjust the tie rod to toe in or toe out - but, does this move both wheels in or out at the same time? If so, why is there an adjustment on both ends of the tie rod? And what does the one adjustment on the drag link up by the pittman arm do? Is there a chance that there is a video on You Tube or a picture showing me which of these three adjustment possibilities do what? Being two ends of the tire rod being adjustable, and the 3rd being the drag link up near the pit arm. Before I started the rear of the tires was one inch wider than the front. Thanks for your thoughts! Also my steering wheel is about 70 degrees to the left to drive straight. It doesn't pull either way.

Good link freegdr gave^ I'll try answer your questions here. The tie rod sets your toe in. The tie rod has a left hand thread on one side and a right hand thread on the other end. So to adjust your toe in you loosen both lock bolts on the tie rod clamps and rotate the tie rod. One direction make the tie rod ends closer together, the other direction makes them farther apart. You want the front of the tires ~1/8" closer together than the back.

The drag link works the same way, with both right and left hand threads but is used to adjust your steering wheel position. Again (with tires aimed straight) loosen both (drag link) clamp bolts and rotate the sleeve untill your steering wheel is centered.
